How to season cast iron cookware:

  • Wash it well and dry it.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees .
  • Warm the pan over low heat on the stove.
  • Lightly and evenly cover the entire surface of the pan with a fresh neutral oil like corn or grape seed, there should be no excess oil.
  • Bake the pan in the oven an hour and let it cool in the oven.
  • It would be helpful if the first couple of uses require oil.
